Mental Health has become a high-profile topic, especially during the pandemic.

The wellbeing of our staff and residents has always been an important consideration, even before covid struck. All staff have completed the two-day Mental Health First Aid programme in the past, with refresher training completed last year.

Our newest employees commenced the programme on 11th October and will complete it later this month.

The investment in Mental Health First Aid training proved invaluable, especially during the pandemic, as staff were able to identify symptoms, confide in one another and overcome difficulties.

Resident and family concerns were also identified and addressed and helped us manage the restraints of the pandemic as effectively as possible.

As part of the home’s commitment to helping both staff and residents, we also use a Psychotherapist to address issues on an individual basis as required believing that a well mind is as important as a well body.
