I hope that you are all well.
It is with great regret to inform you all that sadly we have a case of Covid in the home, the resident has mild symptoms (hopefully due to the 4 jabs) however it has been passed onto 3 members of staff who ironically have never contracted Covid, unfortunately, their symptoms are a lot greater.
We have hopefully been able to catch it early due to the staff’s dedication to testing and they have been detected at a very faint line stage prior to entering the home to work, this should hopefully give you all reassurance that we are trying to protect the home as much as possible.
At present, while we have cases of Covid there will only be door visits available. These are for 30 minutes and will require you to vacate so that staff are able to clean the screen ready for the next visit. Unfortunately, the residents will need to remain in the home as we are unable to monitor contact until at least Tuesday 5th July 2022 which will be 14 days. If you require a door visit, please call the home to arrange and if you can try to keep it to one visit per resident per day, to allow everyone the opportunity to book in during this time.
I need to be very blunt as past emails have not always been adhered to, please can all residents’ visitors please ensure that masks are always worn, these are mandatory within a care home…. on several occasions’ family members have been seen and reminded to replace their masks to keep everyone safe.
Staff must wear them throughout their shift and it’s frustrating when visitors come into the home and are wearing them on their chin, around their wrists or on one ear – this is not acceptable. If anyone has travelled abroad or been on public transport where there is air conditioning could you, please refrain from visiting the home for 5 days.
There will be no drinks facilities or meals provided as this requires the removal of the mask, and there will be no access to the toilet facilities, even when the room visits return, the residents’ toilets are not to be used.
Thank you for your co-operation and we hope to return to conservatory and room visits as soon as possible.
