Hello everyone.

I hope you are all keeping safe and well.

Apologies for the delay since our last update, we have been very busy ensuring staffing levels are not compromised as a result of staff holidays, sickness, isolation requirements and the daily challenges we have to deal with.

As you are all aware if there were any concerns, we would have issued an update as appropriate.

We are finding that our visiting arrangements are working well.

However, if you have booked a conservatory visit can I remind you that masks MUST be worn and correctly applied at all times.

The levels of covid have increased significantly within the local area, and a number of staff whose children have returned to school after the school holidays have reported that their children have tested positive and a such will not be able to attend work during the isolation period.

We need to be extra cautious as we have all worked so hard to keep the virus at bay.

In order to maintain a proactive approach, we have completed a full home swab earlier this week and I am delighted to announce that all test results were negative.

The activities sheet hasn’t been produced this month as we have found that residents are preferring spontaneous activity and doing things in smaller groups.

We hope to set up an art class in the near future which hopefully will encourage engagement.

On Monday I went to see Whitefriars to look at the possibility of re-engaging with the community with their keep fit sessions.

We are also looking at getting entertainers back into the home, and this will only be done in accordance with government guidelines, slowly we are beginning to get back to some form of normality, but please be assured we are not willing to compromise the safety of our residents and staff.

If you have any concerns on the matters identified, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Keep Safe
