An update since my last email, it’s been a busy time within the home, but we’re pleased to say that the cases have reduced in numbers.

I will email you all separately to let you know how they are today, as Covid has had an impact on some of the residents and left them very frail.

We have only 7 residents that have a faint line on an LFT, so hopefully, by the weekend, the residents will be negative. There are, however, 11 residents that remain Covid free, and we have to be aware that we still have positive cases. We have staff members that are still testing positive as they have had to carry out care with residents who have been positive.

We have spoken with Shropshire Public Heath, who has confirmed that while we still have Covid spreading, then we are to remain in lockdown. We have been given a new date of 10th February for the whole home swab. Providing there are no further cases (residents or staff), then we need to wait for the PCR results to come back, which is usually 2 days. However, it will fall over the weekend, so we will hopefully be out of the outbreak by Monday, 13th February.

Visits can still take place for 1 named visitor in their room. They have unlimited visits with no specified duration. We have been told by Public Health that other than appointments going out is to be avoided until the whole home is clear.

We all appreciate your patience and understanding with regard to guidance.

Kindest Regards

Lindsay, Vince and Team Hendra
