As you are all aware, the most recent lockdown was swift, although predicable and has had a marked effect on local businesses.
Despite their own circumstances Wendy Kirby and her team at The Buttery in Castle Square kindly donated their unused fresh food stocks to the residents at Hendra.
We offered to pay for the goods, but Wendy insisted that we have them for free in recognition of the care received by her aunty during her residency at the home.
Having witnessed first-hand the sight of hardworking local businesses people clearing their stocks in anticipation of the lockdown and not knowing when they will be able to open again really made me aware of the impact that the pandemic has had on local businesses and local people.
We hope anyone reading the blog will try and support the Buttery when it reopens in recognition of it’s support to the home and its residents. Please remember small family businesses are what makes Ludlow such a lovely place to live.
It was a pleasure to send Wendy a small token of our appreciation in the way of a flower arrangement which we all hope will give her and her family some pleasure during their enforced closure.
