Here is hoping you have had a safe week, and this email finds you all well.

Sadly, we have had a tough weekend with the passing of one of our beloved residents (Not Covid related). It is times like this weekend when you realise how close and supportive we all are, not just as a team but as a Hendra family.

I am sure every one of you will join us all in offering your condolences to the family concerned.

All our resident’s families are an extension of Hendra’s team, and we all feel the pain of the loss of a loved one.  Fortunately, we were able to fulfil the wishes of the resident and the family, and they were able to remain at Hendra in familiar surrounds supported by those who knew them so well.

A lovely person, who was gentle and kind to others and will be greatly missed by us all.

Last week’s swabs and LFDs have all come back negative. We are so pleased to see the end of the 28-day outbreak on Thursday and looking forward to welcoming the visits back to the booth from Friday.

Anyone who would like a visit, please call the home and book in. Please remember that only single household visits are permitted to reduce the risk of cross-infection.

Can I thank you all for your patience and support throughout this phase, which has been greatly appreciated by everyone at the home.

Hopefully, after our second dose of the vaccine, which we hope will take place on Saturday 27th March, we may be able to start reviewing how we visit and hopefully, we will be in a better place to minimise the risk of infection as much as possible.

We had to postpone the trip last Friday due to the inclement weather conditions. However, we have rescheduled it for a week today … next Tuesday 23rd as there is less chance of rain, with a forecast of 12oC almost tropical compared to the weather we have seen over the last few months.

Again, if you need anything, do not hesitate to contact me or the home. Stay safe, and we will all get through this.
