Hello Everyone,

Hope that this finds you all well and coping with the lockdown.

The last week just seems to have flown by hard to believe we are a week into February.

We have some great news that the home has completed their 3rd set of swabs on the residents and they have come back again as negative. In addition, there are no staff who have tested positive (I am touching wood as I type this).

We are still officially in an outbreak until the 18th February but feel that if staff are negative this week, we are going to look at a trip out for the residents that want a change of scenery.

The Lateral Flow quick tests are working well twice a week for staff. Staff are now able to facilitate these at home following training. Even though they are not 100% accurate, it gives an immediate indication from anyone that could be infectious at the time.

The PCR swabs are still being carried out weekly to ensure we can identify future risks at the earliest opportunities. Staff have been amazing throughout, not seeing their families to protect everyone the best that we can.

The key worker system seems to be working well, and this is something that will remain after the pandemic as it has improved our communication systems and gives families reassurance, and the opportunity to have open and honest discussions.

Stay safe, and if you have any concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Regards
