As a follow on from Lindsay’s message I cannot stress how important it is for all family members and visitors to strictly adhere to our control measures and keep us fully informed of any overseas visits you may have made in advance of visiting the home.
Thanks to the vigilance and proactive stance of the team we hope that we have contained the outbreak with regard to our residents, and only one resident has become infected.
Sadly, some staff members who had been in contact with the infected resident have tested positive along with family members. As a result, a number have been very poorly.
This has resulted in the remaining staff having to make significant personal sacrifices to ensure that we maintained standards and met fully the needs of our residents at all times.
In addition, additional recording and testing of staff add to the heavy burden we are all under as a result.
We also had to cancel two training days planned during the week at short notice and will now have to rearrange them at a later date.
I cannot stress too strongly the importance of following our infection control strategies as requested as they have been designed to keep residents, families, and our staff as safe as possible.
