Thank you for all the support and patience that you have shown during this outbreak.

I can confirm that we now only have 2 residents showing faint LFTs as of 04/02/2023, which is amazing as we had nearly 2/3 of the home with it.

I will be honest, and therefore I need to let you all know that Covid has hit some of the residents hard and has left them feeling very sleepy, mobility deteriorated and requiring more support than pre-Covid. However, it is early days, and hopefully, with the staff, and outstanding care, they will be back to feeling better in the next few months. Those of us that have experienced Covid know all too well this is how they have felt, and some still struggling.

It’s with great sadness that we announce 3 residents have passed away during the last week. This has been very upsetting for both families and staff. We were able to facilitate visits to enable families to be with their loved ones. I feel that I need to add that 2 of the residents were poorly for a few weeks leading up to the outbreak. However, we feel having Covid on top hasn’t helped, but we feel hasn’t been the reason why they have passed. The 3rd resident didn’t have Covid throughout the outbreak.

We send our deepest sympathy to these families and to the staff who have found it hard losing 3 of our Hendra family in such a short space of time.

Hopefully, by the 13th of February, we will hopefully be deemed as out of outbreak, but we must follow the ever-changing guidance from the government and Public Health England.

If anyone needs any help or support, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kindest Regards

Lindsay, Vince and all of Team Hendra xx
