It has been an interesting week since Lindsay jetted off to get married.

It’s only now that we both realise what amazing job she does and how well she has developed us both to continue to manage the care within the home in her absence.

We are delighted to announce that of the 257 tests taken from both residents and staff since 1st October – none have come back positive which is an amazing achievement when the virus is so viral in the local community.

Sadly, another member of staff has had to isolate due to their children contracting the virus, but in true Team Hendra tradition, our girls have been amazing and made tremendous personal sacrifices to ensure that all shifts are fully manned with appropriate staff skill mixes.

Vince continues to be very supportive, and we all know how much he misses being at the home, but we are in constant contact with him, and his knowledge, expertise and support are invaluable to both of us.

We have decided to have a whole home swab test on Monday and assuming the results come back clear we can begin to relax the restrictions that were necessary when we had our first positive test.

On a positive note, we are delighted to announce that one member of Team Hendra has returned home from hospital having contracted the virus and I am sure you will join us both in wishing her a full and speedy recovery.

Please be assured that should it be appropriate, we will keep all family members fully informed of any developments as they occur.

In closing can we wish our wonderful Care Manager Lindsay and her husband to be Chris an amazing day on Tuesday 12th October as they finally become Mr and Mrs Lewis.
